• Daniel's Bagel Bakery

    Budget choice
  • You can tell a place knows how to do its bagels when the smoked salmon variety comes with a chunk of lemon for you to squeeze on. The surly staff and clattering metal baskets can be a bit off-putting, and the boreka sometimes lack in flavour, but that doesn't stop car loads of locals stopping by to pick up their weekly baked goods. Don't miss the fresh breads behind the counter, especially the rye, although pitta purists will be disappointed by Daniel's overly leavened offerings. Crumbles and pies are also served to customers at affiliated Café Dan next door.

Daniels makes delicious baked breads, rolls, challah, pitta and bagels. The choclate yeast cake is lovely-especially if bought fresh (first thing in the morning).
