We went first for a large family supper.
Super fresh food, very well presented and very tasty. Excellent value for money too.
On that occasion the service was very slow but still the food was worth waiting for. Have been for lunch since and the service was fast, food fresh and tasty.
The lunch menu is a good way of getting in and out in good time without usinguop all ones lunch time.

I agree with the review by David. Sushi was good, but hot food wasnt great. And they souldve changed management. because atmosphere was terrible.

The review by David Cabrera leaves me totally confused. Are you sure it's the same place? Maco is one of the best sushi places in London. The imaginative owner/sushi chef keeps delivering superb dishes every time without fail. The quality of the fish is unrivaled. Try the rainbow roll. It's both visually appealing and a fantastic combination of tastes. The black cod with miso sauce was delicate and delicious. Other highlights include the white tuna and toro nigiris, yellow tail and spring onion roll and many more. If you're brave also try the wassabi leaves maki for quite literally a breath taking experience. Staff is extremely friendly too.

This restaurant must have changed management since the earlier reviews were posted.
Had dinner there last night and can only describe the food, service and atmosphere as truly awful.

both the sushi and hot food are excellent. great choice of foods. Room for improvements overall perhaps but would recommend without hesitation!

A hidden gem. Good food, good price. Mixed service but staff have usually been very attentive and helpful.

my husband and I visit this little gem on a regular basis. I have found the sushi to be consistently fantastic and whilst the hot dishes are a bit of 'hit and miss' on overall this simple but delightful venue always gets us returning for more of its treats to the palate. Management changeover has gone smoothly and the venue only improved in offering over this time. Well done guys...u deserve to go places

If you haven't checked this place out yet, you are seriously missing out! A hidden gem in Crouch End that leaves the other Japanese restaurant in this neighbourhood for dead. I lived in Japan for a year and this is the closest to authentic Japanese home cooking I have found in London. Consistant, fairly priced, great ambiance and lovely staff. The sushi is to die for. Other fav's are the Suki Yaki Beef, Shabu Shabu salad.

I've been about six times since this place opened mid-March and never had to wait for service. In fact three of us managed to order, eat and pay within 40 mins at the weekend!

I have been to there few time. Yes ,sushi is good, food is fine, friendly staffs but somehow, service is poor.
I mean about waiting time. starter never come, sushi also never come. Even the restaurant seems not busy.
I like sushi, but the place makes me so tired ....

Eep! I have never done this before and it scares me somewhat. How am I supposed to sell myself (not in a prostitutey way) and yet not be up myself?...
