  • Glitzy Sitaaray is adorned, nay overwhelmed, with Bollywood memorabilia. Screens play flamboyant dance routines, the deep-red walls are crammed with film star photos, and posters festooned with baubles are visible from both ground-floor and mezzanine. Cocktails (alcoholic and not) are named after key films. It’s all good over-the-top fun, but it’s also a look that suggests the food might not be up to scratch, so we were pleasantly surprised by its high quality. Tandooris are the speciality, outnumbering curries ten to two on the lunchtime menu. At night, there’s an eat-all-you-want format. Choose between vegetarian and non-veg, then you’re assailed by dishes, served with unnerving velocity by the congenial staff. A sweetcorn patty, a zesty sea bass fillet, and a juicy lamb chop were the best of our nine (yes, nine) kebabs, but all came well-seared. These were preceded by salad, chutneys, popadoms and nuts, and accompanied by nan and dhal. Then came the curries: creamy chicken, and potato and spinach, with rice. We struggled to finish these and couldn’t manage seconds, or one of the standard desserts. Puzzlingly, other diners weren’t vast-bellied trenchermen, but Indian couples of modest proportions. Sitaaray was nearly empty midweek – a pity. Trenchermen are missing a treat.

Style, substance and five star service puts Sitaaray way ahead of the pack

Sitaaray was suggested by my sis, so I thought I'd try it out . I must say I had the most amazing Indian food of my life there.

Sitaaray is a fantastic place to eat. Lots of choice and the food is delicious. The decor added to my lovely experience.

The only two faults with the restaurant is firstly it does not have a great choice for vegetarians! and secondly it is all halal meat which some of my friends do not eat--it is not clearly stated on the website so we were a bit annoyed.
But good since we got a cosy somewhat isolated booth.

Avoid this place if you care about decent food. It was the worst meal I've ever had. Salt infused rubbish. My partner couldn't eat any of it and was totally shocked. The kebabs were dire (with the exception of a decent lamb cutlet) and the curries tasted as though they came out of a tin and had even more salt in than the kebabs. Appalling food, appalling value for money.

decor very bollywood, interesting chandeliers and cosy little booth style tables. Loved all the bollywood pictures.
set 9 course meal, the food started off promising, with delicious chutneys and poppodums, followed by the first couple of chicken starters, which were very tasty. After this the food that followed was all down hill for me. The lamb looked slightly uncooked, lacked flavour.
The main course very dissappointing. Chicken curry not spicy enough.
Dessert was tasty and there is variety.
For me personally this place is over-hyped, it is not value for money, and though it has the bollywood feel about the place, the food lacks the bollywood vibe.
    Service received was friendly enough.
If you want good proper indian food, then I would recommend you don't go here.

Went to Sitaaray tonight and had the special deal, all you can eat 9 kebaps and some curry, on the first round we were already full! We could not order anymore. Service was very attentive and always asked us if we wanted more of this or the other, deco is original, very central too. Would recommend.
