  • Autographed photos of Bollywood sex bombs and musclemen smile down from the walls of this dazzling new restaurant. A blaring flat-screen shows dance sequences. Sharing premises with the New London Theatre, Sitaaray (Stars) is dedicated to Hindi cinema and to the chargrilled cuisine of the north-west frontier. The memorabilia spewed all over the interior is fun to gawk at, but its the food that stars. The all-you-can-eat set price dinner allows a choice of kebabs accompanied by three well-executed dishes: khadai chicken (saucy boneless pieces cooked in an old-fashioned iron wok); vegetable miloni (courgettes, carrots and mushrooms sunk in spinach); and dal makhani (lentils at their most decadent). Ample portions of nan, raita, salad and popadoms top this off. Seafood lovers should try the malabar crab cakes (listed under extras to order): delectable, but mirchi (chilli-hot). The lunch menu includes South Indian idlis and dosais, as well as kebabs. Sitaaray has reincarnated the galouti kebab into a vegetarians dream. This traditionally mutton-based mince is here made of mushrooms and laced with nutmeg. The friendly waiters tried to tempt us with kulfi and ice-cream for dessert, but we were full and content.

decor very bollywood, interesting chandeliers and cosy little booth style tables. Loved all the bollywood pictures.
set 9 course meal, the food started off promising, with delicious chutneys and poppodums, followed by the first couple of chicken starters, which were very tasty. After this the food that followed was all down hill for me. The lamb looked slightly uncooked, lacked flavour.
The main course very dissappointing. Chicken curry not spicy enough.
Dessert was tasty and there is variety.
For me personally this place is over-hyped, it is not value for money, and though it has the bollywood feel about the place, the food lacks the bollywood vibe.
    Service received was friendly enough.
If you want good proper indian food, then I would recommend you don't go here.

Went to Sitaaray tonight and had the special deal, all you can eat 9 kebaps and some curry, on the first round we were already full! We could not order anymore. Service was very attentive and always asked us if we wanted more of this or the other, deco is original, very central too. Would recommend.
