  • No sooner are we greeted breezily at the door by the aproned staff of this City sandwich bar, than one of them has to race into the kitchen to attend to some burning toast. A plume of acrid smoke threatened to engulf Grazing’s white-tiled interior. Sitting on a brushed-steel stool, we sampled an expertly grilled ‘Denhay of Dorset’ streaky bacon sandwich. There’s an unashamedly meaty outlook here, and the company is proud of its products’ provenance. This is probably the only place in town where you can pick up a haggis and fried egg butty on the way to work. A healthier breakfast option comes in the shape of a build-your-own muesli bar. By lunchtime, Donald Russell’s Aberdeenshire beef rolls are the big draw, though on our breakfast visit, the prospect of a filled yorkshire pudding special was enough to make us consider a half-day skive. Small wonder, then, that Grazing is as popular with site-workers scanning The Sunas City folk spilling ketchup on their ties.
