Fairly anodyne in appearance, FBC was one of the first of the chains to start offering more unusual burger options. The Hawaiian is a burger with pineapple, bacon and cheddar, plus the usual toppings (mayo, lettuce, tomato and red onion are pretty standard across the genre). Theres also a fish finger sandwich thats nearly as good as the one you loved at uni, while tempura onion rings practically the size of Saturns hoops are deliciously spicy and moreish. FBCs bog-standard burger is a well-made thing: decently stacked, pleasantly juicy and housed in a good, firm bun. Chips are chunky and tasty; shakes slightly above average. The menus insistence that its beef is happy beef may come as news to the cows.
