This tiny pit-stop has all dishes translated into English (though ‘whatever, £9.80’ is a touch esoteric). The choice is immense, including chinese mushroom with frogs’ legs congee, and some Malaysian food, though the regulars (Chinese students, office workers) invariably order meal-in-one rice or noodle dishes. Vermicelli with minced beef and gelatinous ‘1,000-year-old egg’ in a steaming stock tasting of Bovril laced with rice wine was fabulous. Grab a menu from the counter if necessary; the terse yet speedy staff can be a bit lax.

I second that comment. We went in at 10pm for dessert and were given a decent table cos they thought we were having Mains; but when they found out we were just 'small customers' ordering only desserts, we were also on the receiving end of some terrible services. Won't visit again. I don't pay to endure such services.
This restaurant has some of the worst services you can possibly find - forceful table-turning (laying down the bill and cleaning the table even thou we were still eating), disappointing manners (despite restaurant being only half-full). And to have the audacity to charge 10% service was just adding salt to insult.
