Not the fanciest of caffs, but Jen is certainly homely. There’s always at least one nimble-fingered woman manipulating dough by the window to draw in punters, who are rewarded with fresh, home-style pork and vegetable dumplings. Order them steamed or pan-fried. The noodles are worth trying too, with specials such as pork and preserved cabbage.

Cheap and cheerful, with food that's hardly anything remarkable, but a strangely comorting and pleasant place - a nice quick (and the service is like lightning - my noodle soup was served in seconds flat) alternative to a bite at one of the area's many "proper" restaurants. I've been lunching in Soho for many years and, having discovered Jen Cafe just last week, regret having always coldshouldered this little place in favour of more expensive (albeit - to be fair - usually far superior) fare.
Small and crowded, full at most hours of the day and one of the few places where you can get a quick, fairly filling snack for a fiver. Do try the pork dumplings you see being made, they really are good - though by the quantities being made I suspect that most are being made for other restaurants rather than here ! The pork and preserved cabbage is good.
Also found this a few years back - a great place for comfort food on a grey day. I'm kind of sorry it has now been 'disovered'...
Been coming here for the last 7 years, love it. Those dumplings are a great filler on a day out in town.
