This Korean-run sushi bar serves daringly experimental dishes in a modern, well-decorated setting. The interior is evocative of the East, with its clever use of black marble and bamboo trompe loeil. A conveyor-belt sushi counter dominates the centre of the dining room. Perch here to admire wild-looking creations such as inside-out salmon maki in a panko (breadcrumb) crust, or banana, avocado and cucumber maki. Drizzles of mayonnaise or wine sauce, garnishes of brightly coloured flying-fish roe or matt black sesame seeds jazz up already busy combinations. Sushi purists might prefer to stick to the classics; grilled eel and tuna nigiri were both good, bettering the specimens found in some well-known kaiten-zushi chains. If youre tempted by tempura or other dishes such as takoyaki (diced octopus fried in little balls of batter), take heed of the sign that hot dishes can be reheated on request. How prawn tempura is reheated, were not sure. Theres also a good selection of katsu curry, noodle and Korean-style bulgogi dishes, which are best enjoyed at the spacious booth seating.
