Follow the night-lights and American Beauty-style red-rose wall up the stairs to this glamorously sleek bar and restaurant, which belies its long-standing prime position on Piccadilly. An inviting lounge area and great drinks list including rose lemonade is reason enough not to go straight to one of the restaurant tables with a view of Green Park. Who knew there were so many wines from the Bekaa Valley? Cooking doesn’t consistently do the Lebanon quite as much credit. Inspired meze, including crisp pumpkin and walnut kibbeh and a standout dish of chicken livers with pomegranate molasses, outshone the bland baba ganoush and fatayer. Considering the prices and their relative simplicity, main courses could have had more care and definition. Three little red mullet, spoilt by greasy fried aubergine slices and strips of pitta on the dark side of toasted, left a poor impression. Milk pudding with the texture and aroma of face cream was improved no end by a jug of rose syrup. Service excelled right until the ending of orange blossom and mint teas in see-through teapots, helping make Fakhreldine better as a rendezvous for drinks and meze than as a restaurant.

This restaurent is terrible.
To start, the restaurant had 'lost' my reservation - not a great start when you have twenty guests showing. After having been squeezed into a tiny corner of restaurant and waiting two hours for meals they were nothing to be desired. A number of dishes were mixed up and even some meat had found its way into a friends vegetarian dish. Unbelievable. For those dishes that did find their way to the right people, generally consensus was this was not great - dishes were only luke warm and meat dishes were dry.
The staff were generally unattentive, rude and the restaurant ruined our entire evening. I woundn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I definately recommend this restaurant. I came here with my girlfriend a few days ago, and we had a fantastic time. A great atmosphere was enhanced by wonderful food and an equally wonderful service. I am more than happy with the time I had here and will undoubtedly make another trip here in the near future..
