Spigas stablemates in the Vince Power Music Group include a clutch of style bars and music venues. While theres no live music or DJs at this classy pizzeria, a light jazz soundtrack accompanies casual daytime dining and picks up when the buzzier evening crowd arrives. Modern decor, booth seating, a small bar and smart, black-clad Italian staff provide the good looks; food is similarly well presented and competently put together. Thin-crust pizzas are decked with reliably tasty toppings: funghi marinati, capricciosa, aubergine and salami, and a white pizza with mozzarella, pecorino, taleggio and goats cheese. Pasta dishes include egg-free strozzapreti with duck confit; own-made penne with hazelnut cream and pecorino cheese shavings; and linguine with lobster. The latter was excellent the crustacea very fresh-tasting though we had to ask for both a finger bowl and a dish for the empty shells. There are also hearty, meaty mains (pan-fried duck breast with white truffle honey) and seafood options such as chargrilled tuna steak. For a sweet finish, try raspberry and rum panna cotta or coconut sorbet with bitter chocolate sauce.
