The majority of London's so-called 'Greek' restaurants are run by Greek-Cypriots. This island's cooking style tends to be meatier than the cooking you find in the Greek islands or Greek mainland and has a recognisably Middle Eastern slant. As a result, souvlaki (grilled meat on skewers) are a mainstay of the cuisine. At Pomegranate, the restaurant serves no-frills souvlakia. Choose from chicken, lamb or pork and it will come to you fresh from the grill on a bed of red onion and topped with a flurry of fiercely peppery wild rocket. Supplement the meal with a signature pomegranate cocktail (a lot more potent than it tastes), top-notch range of meze, fresh-tasting taramasalata or tzatziki and delightfully chewy pita bread. Pomegranate labels itself as 'fusion' Greek food, but we saw nothing out of the ordinary; they're better off boasting of their well-rendered classics.

I've moved to London last year for work and research reasons and am not looking for anything particular. It's actually the first time I'm using...

I think that Pomegranate is a great restaurant. The staff are always friendly and attentive and the food tastes absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I always order far too much but it all tastes so good that we manage to polish it all off! My particular favourites are the halloumi and the roasted vegetables. The fruit platter is also a refreshing way to end the meal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family and I can't wait to go there again!
I visited Pomegranate yesterday and was extremely impressed with the experience. The restaurant is modern and has a very relaxed and amiable atmosphere. The waiters are friendly and the service was great. There was a huge selection on the menu and the food was cooked perfectly and served hot. I had an excellent meal and have already booked to go back there next weekend.
