  • For a traditional, high-end London dining experience, The Old Masters is up there with the best. The Rubens at The Palace, the luxurious hotel it's part of, was built in 1912 as a hostel for debutantes coming out at Buckingham Palace down the road. The restaurant itself is set out like a traditional carvery grill with ornate high ceilings, chandeliers, the works. Fresh roasts are on the menu every day. Amongst the most famed dishes is the excellent Aberdeen Angus beef roast. Salads, fish and vegetarian dishes are also on the menu. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the breakfasts, we hear, are rather splendid. Live piano music most evenings. Good, welcoming service.
