Alastair Little frontage
Chef Alastair Little was one of the earliest exponents of what we now call Modern European cooking – what at the time, in the early 1980s, we called 'Modern British'. Alastair Little himself has not been involved with the restaurant bearing his name for several years, but it is with great sadness we report the closure of this iconic restaurant. Although the phone was still being answered on 9 July, and the woman who answered the phone said 'It's all gone wrong but we're hoping to reopen in a month or so', the bailiff's notice on the door the same day suggested otherwise. End of an era.
