Handily situated right in London’s thriving theatreland is the Maharajah of India restaurant, a spot popular with tourists and Londoners looking for great food in a sea of choices. With its unassuming frontage it would be all too easy to pass the Maharajah of India by in favour of something with a little more bling. But head inside and you’ll find a cosy and welcoming restaurant with swift, efficient and friendly service. The excellent food is traditionally Indian with additional specialities, thalis and great sizzling dishes offered besides the usual. English dishes are also available while Indian sweets are a delight worth saving a little space for.

Hugely disappointing lunch at this restaurant. Service was OK but the food was bland and tasteless, my Chicken Dansak was like a chicken casserole, no flavour or spice to it whatsoever. Sundries were OK, nan bread was good but the onion bhajis were rock hard and the bombay aloo also very bland.
one of the least enjoyable curries I have ever had!
