  • Located slightly off the beaten track in Walthamstow, Forest Tandoori takes a refreshingly modern approach to Indian cuisine. Just five minutes walk from Wood Street train station and surrounded by busy pubs, it attracts a fair amount of passing trade but still remains something of a hidden gem. The smart wooden floors and clean white linen make for a calm and contemporary interior – perfect for intimate dinners, business lunches and family gatherings. The extensive menu includes all the familiar favourites you would expect, alongside Forest specials like Murgh Badami – chicken in ginger and garlic paste with saffron and almonds – and Karaki Lamb, cooked with the Chef’s secret recipe. For lunch, thali meals offer a light and delicious way of trying out several different dishes.

Our long time favourite - the decor is modern and smart, and the service always friendly and professional. The menu is standard but the quality is well above average. Excellent for veggie food too, and their thalis are great. You need to book if you want a table on Saturday night.

This is a delightfully peaceable indian restaurant in wood street between forest road and Leabridge road. The atmosphere is very calm, service is very friendly. It was fairly busy when we arrive. The starter were very good, i had a "King Prawn Suka" which were everything a starter should be - light and artful inducement to further pleasure of the palate. My companion enjoyed fresh "Tiger Prawn" which was just the right chewiness and very fragrant.
For the main course i had mild spiced chicken with almonds saffron and Marry had a chefs special woven chicken. It was a extremely feeling when accompanied by freshly cooked ladies fingers, which I highly recommended as an delicious foods.

    Keep it up.

    LOVELY FOOD!!
The atmosphere was lovely and the modern look gives this place a finishing touch very calm appeal. I have been there about 4 times now, this time with few friends and my family and left very satisfied. The service was outstading and the waiters are very friendly and the authentic dishes are just lovely too, Nothing has dissapointed me and my family.
Highly recommend this place for a family gathering.

I visited the restaurant last night and I could still smell that aroma of the wonderful tasty food on my clothes. Firstly the location is excellent with ample parking space outside and nearby roads without having to pay a penny. First impression of the restaurant was wow! are we really in Walthamstow or West End? The decor and finish is to a high standard with a lovely welcoming feeling. The staff were very friendly, helpful and their recommendations went down a treat. The food was absolutely mind blowing, the spices and flavour leaves you wanting more. The prices are very resonable as I have tried out almost every restaurant in East London. I usually dread using the loos in a restaurant but my god these loos were better than the one I have at home. I personally would recommend anyone that wants to enjoy good food at a very reasonable price.
