Enviably located within striking distance of Knightsbridge and Hyde Park, The Gore Hotel’s Bistro One Ninety is a relaxed slice of London glamour. With its buzzy atmosphere, vintage décor and fabulously fresh food Bistro One Ninety attracts everyone from the fashion maven to the foodie with its well deserved reputation. Combining French bistro chic with that very British eccentricity the interior is packed with personality – an eclectic collection of artworks in mismatched frames dominant part-panelled walls while glittering chandeliers are reflected in ornate gilt mirrors. Turn your attention to the menu and you’ll find exquisitely fresh British ingredients used in traditional dishes such as Seared Calves Liver with Back Bacon Rashers, Baby Onions, Saute Potatoes and Pommery Jus.

This is a gem. Last orders at 11.30pm, so an ideal place to eat after a concert at the Albert Hall. Smallish, but attractive room, traditionally and grandly furnished (including church pew!) Warm, friendly staff. Good value table d'hote menu, at £21 for two courses or £23 for three courses, and a la carte menu. Good selection of wines by the glass or half-bottle. Hot chocolate fondant dessert was as good as Gordon Ramsays at Claridges.
