Lanterns covered in hangul (Korean phonetic script) indicate the culinary emphasis at this hybrid hidey-hole, which opened last summer, opposite Rowans bowling alley. However, Dotori’s mixed clientele clearly relish the juicy, fresh slabs of salmon sashimi and done-to-a-tee gyoza from the Japanese side of the menu as well as moreish, sesame-suffused namul, tongue-tingling kimchi and, that Korean staple, bibimbap which comes in a stone bowl still sizzling as it hits the table then hits the spot. Although the maki are not perfect and the tempura is a touch too oily, they are both attractively priced, and a platter of the latter is generous almost to a fault. Popularity and petiteness mean Dotori is consistently (and deservedly) busy, so don’t count on getting a table.

Just so everyone knows, Dotori's opening hours are 12 noon til 3pm and then 5pm until 11am. They are closed all day on Monday. Booking is essential in the evening.
I've had a couple of meals here and the food is fab, fresh and decently priced!
The food can take an age to arrive however and if you dine as a couple you might find yourself sharing a small table for 4 with others - fine unless your dining companions have had a skinful at the football (Emirates Stadium is a short disance away!)
Overall, It's great value for money and a welcome addition to Finsbury Park.
GIVE IT A GO!
Well done TIMEOUT for finding this tiny gem of a place - locals still don't know it exists!!
Dotori is fantastic place especially for Finsbury Park to be honest which is full of dodgy chicken places.
The food is fantastic - I had the most amazing fresh Tuna Sashimi the other day and the chef had just got the fish from Billingsgate Market. There are some shortcuts - Ramen using instant noodles (!) BUT I'd give this lovely place 5/5 and I visit virtually every lunchtime for consistently lovely food.
The staff are also brilliant. Dotori is a welcome addition to the area and thankfully not a chain...highly recommended.
