  • Striking Iranian restaurant

  • This Iranian restaurant has a strikingly modern interior, largely inherited from the bar that occupied the site before it. So you can sink into a huge black leather banquette for your feast of subtly marinated chicken or lamb kebabs, slow-cooked khoresh stews, and faloodeh shaved-ice desserts.

We loved the flavours of the dried Persian plum in a sweet and sour vegetble stew (khoresh e aloo esfenaaj), and also the sour tang of sundried lemons in the diced lamb and split peas stew (khoresh e gheymeh). The latter had a rösti-like mesh of tiny potato chips on it to vary the texture a bit. But if you ask nicely, you get the crispy rice brittle with the chicken and steamed rice dish called zereshk polo ba murgh – a nice contrast to the sharp barberries and pungent saffron flavours in the standard rice.

We suggest skipping the starters – neither the own-made pickled vegetables nor the grilled aubergine starter were much cop – and order a faloodeh to finish instead. It’s light like a granita, unless you go for the full Dame Edna Everage and have the sorbet too, in which case it’s easily enough for two to share.

Very modern and cosy at the same time. Great cocktails (Try the porn star Martini!)
Tasty aubergine and yogurt starters and tender lamb & chicken kebabs all marinated with saffron.Friendly service and reasonable prices for such good food and service. Finish the evening with a melon hubble bubble!

Great food. Simple, yet effective/delicious, selection of dishes. Polite staff. Very relaxed atmosphere. And very good value for money. An enjoyable, and stomach-filling, evening out - especially when it's pouring with rain outside!

Very impolite staff. The restaurant was almost empty. Without even a greeting or a smile, we were rudely asked if we had reserved a table. The unfriendliness of the staff was unbelievable and we decided to leave immediately. Very disappointing because we were looking forward to coming here.Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.

    Fantastic food & friendly service.
Went there on Saturday last week and the place was buzzing.
One of the best persian restaurants we have been to so far.
