This sweetly decorated eaterie boasts an outdoor patio where Salman Rushdie was dining on the night of our visit. Little touches such as cushioned seats and an abundance of potted plants convey a feeling of comfort and attention to detail. The menu offers standard pan-Asian staples interspersed with several intriguing choices for those who feel adventurous. We opted for more unusual dishes: both fried oysters and salt-and-pepper frogs' legs were juicy and tender, but their flavour was overwhelmed by overly thick batter. A plate of mildly hot chillies stuffed with prawns and served with black bean sauce went down a treat, but our final dish of squid with sweet chillies took an unreasonably long time to arrive and even when it did come we found it was undercooked. We'd advise ordering carefully and sticking to the tried-and-tested favourites.
