  • Amaranth

    Budget choice
  • Amaranth is the busiest restaurant in Earlsfield, and booking is essential. The cacophony doesn't make it the place for a quiet tête-a-tête; people come for the low prices and a BYO policy that allows you to eat very decently, within budget. The menu kicks off with a series of set menus which offer a surfeit of food. Not the finest royal Thai cuisine, but the basic curries and stir-fries – from squid with peppercorns to pad Thai – are competently prepared. Service is brisk, though not brusque.

Reasonably priced and delicious. If you want fresh, authentic Thai food for sensible prices then look no further. It is no coincidence that Amaranth is packed every single night. Go there!

Whenever I visit family in London I go to this restaurant. The food is always cooked fresh and it is delicious. A sign of a good restaurant is that it is always busy, Amaranth is no exception, so always book beforehand or you may not get a table. All the staff are very pleasant.
