• Blah Blah Blah

  • The decor of this sprightly 18-year-old aims at fun: strings of silvery Christmas decorations, disco balls, palms laden with fairy lights, wooden carvings and old-school theatre spotlights. Glasses of crayons are on the tables should creative inspiration strike, while the basement has a cosy snug for four near the toilets, together with another dining room full of colourful cushions. The appealing, fresh menu nods to world flavours (India, the Middle East, the Mediterranean), and we had difficulty making a decision. Artichoke salad was a light flavoursome starter; grilled halloumi came orangey-red, thanks to its tikka and yoghurt dressing. Ordering laksa, we expected a steaming bowl of spicy Singaporean soup noodles, but instead received a small amount of thick sauce underneath vegetables, tofu and plain egg noodles, topped with a single wun tun; the potatoes were incongruous and unnecessary. Still, the sweetcorn tostado, a tower of crisp corn tortillas filled with black beans, was a success. Service was efficient and friendly, if a little harried; the bill came as a final scrawled figure with no breakdown of costs – no blah blah blah there! Note that payment is by cash only – though, on the plus side, this is a BYO establishment.

We ate at BBB in January and I promised a review but got a bit busy. WE had a fantastic meal and will now return any time we are in London. So good to eat real veggie food cooked with care and attention. The tandoori style haloumi has become a home favourite now. The schnitzel was incredible and the mushroom wellington was stunning. Attention to detail was particularly good different veggies and mash with each meal. Also like going to buy own wine accross the street.

When we visited Blah Blah Blah on Sat 2nd May, they were extremely busy and had one waiter available as they were not expecting so many walk-ins, as we were informed. Under the busy circumstances they coped quite well, and provided good service and food. Next time we will make sure we book before we go. I recommend this restaurant to all.

Found this to be top--one of my best vege experiences--great food, nice music (Nora Jones) and courteous staff. The food is fresh and prepared that way--so it takes a drop longer to be served--but well worth it, especially if you are in no rush.

Absolutely great place! The service was amazing- The owners came out several time to check up on us and were extremely friendly. The food was very diverse, well-plated and excellent. You must have the sticky toffee cake- unbelievable.

After reading these mixed reviews, I didn't expect much when I visited Blah Blah Blah for the first time. I was positively surprised: the decor wasn't as tacky as I thought (you hardly notice the mini disco balls), the atmosphere was nice and relaxed, even the music was pretty good (Gotan Project, Moby, and, er, Kylie). More importantly, the staff were lovely and polite, and the food was excellent. It wasn't cheap, but it was reasonable, especially as you bring your own wine! My starter course was Fresh Vietnamese Spring Rolls, and I have to say, they tasted like spring in all their fresh vegetabley goodness! The sweet chilli sauce was the best I have ever had, and spicy too! My partner's baked camembert was lovely too (although he would have preferred a deep fried one), served with berry jam (yum) and celery (yuck). My Kashmiri curry was delicious, but not hot at all, except for the fabulous pickle that came with the light, tasty poppadoms. My partner's Veggie Fajitas were nicely spiced, although too oniony for me. Overall, the portions were generous, by the time we finished we were both so full we chose to share a dessert instead of having one each. The Banoffee Pie was absolutely heavenly, best one I have had in years, if not ever! If I had to be reaaally picky, I would say that the base was a teeny bit too crumbly, but who cares? It was divine. I would definitely recommend this to both veggies and non-veggies (as I am not a vegetarian). Only a few suggestions: the dessert menu was not as imaginative as the starters or mains, where were the vegan (more interesting and creative by force) choices?

A friend booked this for 14 people for a birthday meal. The restaurant was booked for 8pm. My main course (and most of the others) arrived at 10.15 - my wife's at 10.45. The food was reasonable in parts but the portions were never generous.
The combination of high prices (for what it is) smallish portions and totally indifferent service makes this a one star - even if the staff are nice.

Having visited Blah Blah Blah I will be recommending this restaurant to friends and family. It has friendly staff, great food and a welcoming atmosphere. The last review mentions The Stranglers alithough I believe people want soft music played during eating instead of this loud punk music. Great value for money for what you get. I look forward to eating there again soon.

I used to visit this restaurant once every six months, due to the risk of receiving variable service by constantly changing staff. Recently I've been visiting every 2 weeks or so due to the consistently good service and extremely friendly welcome. At the end of each evening the new manager had played my favourite Stranglers music (now is not the time to comment on my musical taste!), the perfect end to mine and my wifes evening. Sadly the manager has now departed, to my dismay, and I'm sure at a huge loss. The food will continue to be ok I'm sure, but the atmosphere will suffer as a consequence. Oh well, back to the hit and miss of Blah Blah Blah.

For a dinner costing £46 for 2 plus the cost of our own wine the food was extremely tasty and portions generous. I strongly recommend the halloumi kebab starter and my blackbean and sweetcorn tastada main. I was less impressed with the date sponge desert. I am not a vegetarian but would definitely return.

I ate at Blah Blah Blah last Saturday night and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Alongside the delicious food (tomato and mozzarella torte, blackbean tostada and I also managed to squeeze in some bannoffee pie!) the waiting staff were highly entertaining. The highlight of the evening being a rather delicious looking waiter giving some unsuspecting woman a lesson in salsa, much to the amusement of the guests seated downstairs! What a great atmosphere, I'd like to thank all the staff there for a fantastic evening.
