  • Blah Blah Blah

  • The decor of this sprightly 18-year-old aims at fun: strings of silvery Christmas decorations, disco balls, palms laden with fairy lights, wooden carvings and old-school theatre spotlights. Glasses of crayons are on the tables should creative inspiration strike, while the basement has a cosy snug for four near the toilets, together with another dining room full of colourful cushions. The appealing, fresh menu nods to world flavours (India, the Middle East, the Mediterranean), and we had difficulty making a decision. Artichoke salad was a light flavoursome starter; grilled halloumi came orangey-red, thanks to its tikka and yoghurt dressing. Ordering laksa, we expected a steaming bowl of spicy Singaporean soup noodles, but instead received a small amount of thick sauce underneath vegetables, tofu and plain egg noodles, topped with a single wun tun; the potatoes were incongruous and unnecessary. Still, the sweetcorn tostado, a tower of crisp corn tortillas filled with black beans, was a success. Service was efficient and friendly, if a little harried; the bill came as a final scrawled figure with no breakdown of costs – no blah blah blah there! Note that payment is by cash only – though, on the plus side, this is a BYO establishment.

I used to visit this restaurant once every six months, due to the risk of receiving variable service by constantly changing staff. Recently I've been visiting every 2 weeks or so due to the consistently good service and extremely friendly welcome. At the end of each evening the new manager had played my favourite Stranglers music (now is not the time to comment on my musical taste!), the perfect end to mine and my wifes evening. Sadly the manager has now departed, to my dismay, and I'm sure at a huge loss. The food will continue to be ok I'm sure, but the atmosphere will suffer as a consequence. Oh well, back to the hit and miss of Blah Blah Blah.

For a dinner costing £46 for 2 plus the cost of our own wine the food was extremely tasty and portions generous. I strongly recommend the halloumi kebab starter and my blackbean and sweetcorn tastada main. I was less impressed with the date sponge desert. I am not a vegetarian but would definitely return.

I ate at Blah Blah Blah last Saturday night and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Alongside the delicious food (tomato and mozzarella torte, blackbean tostada and I also managed to squeeze in some bannoffee pie!) the waiting staff were highly entertaining. The highlight of the evening being a rather delicious looking waiter giving some unsuspecting woman a lesson in salsa, much to the amusement of the guests seated downstairs! What a great atmosphere, I'd like to thank all the staff there for a fantastic evening.

Certainlly his place has a name as one of the top london restaurants and we all thought as well. Definately innovative vegetarian food in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Food came out steaming hot .tasty and presented beautifully. Slight complain about noise from open kitchen otherwise excellent. Thumbs up

Went to the restaurant, due to the high rated review and was left disappointed. The starters where okay, the aubergine bruchetta was such a small portion i had to question my self, is this a canapé, the bread was so thin and small I could of had one bite and it was finished. for 5.95 is was a joke, the presentation was good though, but definitely, disappointed with starter. my wife had artichoke with butternut, again portion was small, barely any cheese and butternut on it. Main's where slightly better, my wife had mushroom Wellington which was good, i had the Caribbean curry which should have been the carrot curry, all i seemed to eat was carrots and a few pieces of courgette, rice over done slightly sticky. Overall the restaurant need to have a brighter decor or lighting, the food okay but the prices are a little high for the small portions. BYO a plus, only payment by cash or cheque ( when do you carry a cheque book) a differently no no, i think you have to have card in this day and age right? my be its just me, as i had to walk to the cash point after my bill arrived as i didn't have enough. a 2.5/5 or 3/5 nothing more than that, very average.

Not amazing as reviews state. the restaurant needs a face light the exterior is ugly and the decor inside is not bad but can do with more lighting, looks dark. Food was overpriced for my liking. 11 pounds for main course, you would think your in a 5 star veg restaurant. Service is good, a lot of noise from the kitchen is heard, with the chef shouting. i suppose he's making his staff work. overall i would rate it 3 out of 5. Nothing very special been to other veg restaurants which are better, plus take card. i couldn't understand why the cash only.

Fantastic! The food is delicious and interesting, the service is great and the decor is lovely. I have been to this place many times and take friends who have been equally impressed, vegetarians and meat eaters. My favourite restaurant.

Food is just georgeous. However the resto is too cold. No heating during the winter. The service is nice but not too professional. The Chefs are great!

Had a great lunch today - interesting food which is more than acceptable for non-vegetarians such as me. We were the only people there, so the friendly chef doubled as waiter. Carribean curry was tasty and beautifully presented, as was the apple pie.
In a slightly down-at-heel spot, but walkable from the new Westfield shopping centre.
