London's best review, food and drink news
Large portions and comforting fare are the hallmarks of a home-cooked meal and, happily, the menu at Home Cooking does not disappoint in either respect. Several of the starters were off the menu on the evening we visited, but Parma ham with mozzarella and rocket was certainly a decent fall-back. Feta parcels with yoghurt were slightly less successful the yoghurt was not quite tart enough to cut through the oiliness of the pastry. Mains were excellent: pan-fried sea bream, perfectly cooked and served with a moreish spring onion mash, along with a tender lamb steak that came with Lyonnaise potatoes and spinach. As my dining partner remarked, a restaurant that does exactly what it says on the, erm, tin.
