Coma y Punto
Little has changed at this friendly Colombian café and local gathering spot on the edge of Brixton market. The bold, fake red brick fascia still welcomes from afar and there is plenty of seating both outside and in, despite limited interior space. Portions are hearty and comforting with most main courses accompanied by cassava, plantain and mounds of rice topped with a blob of tomato ketchup. Alongside the breakfasts and snacks there are also a few fish dishes including red mullet, which is served whole and comes with a satisfyingly crispy skin. Alternatively, flattened chicken steaks were nicely tender and came with a tangy, mild salsa. The hot home-made salsa adorning the condiment stand should however be used with caution.
