A standard café menu is complemented by a fair choice of Turkish mezes and grills. Muhamarra (a paste made from red peppers, walnuts and pomegranate syrup) made a very fresh, spicy starter. Our main course, juicy çop şiş, was served on wooden skewers, with a salad of grated lettuce, carrot and red cabbage. Several vegetarian and fish dishes are available, as well as a selection of Turkish pizzas. You can also order Turkish all-day breakfasts, as well as freshly squeezed apple, orange and carrot juices. We've always found the service to be excellent. Mixing elements of café, bar, gallery and restaurant, Z Bar has become something of a local cultural centre, with occasional evening gigs and events in the basement.
