The temptation to take the easy option and opt for a Pret lunch is always great, but those in the vicinity of Oxford Circus at midday should give Sabzi a try. Here, sandwiches, soups and salads are superior, and no more expensive. We were able to nab a window seat on our visit – lucky, as the bright but compact space gets very busy at lunch and most people takeaway. We started with a rich and warming mexican chicken soup; to follow, a good quality ham and cheese baguette. After polishing things off with banana and honey in greek yoghurt, we left well satisfied. Doing the three courses might seem pricey for a stop-and-go lunch (about £15 for two) but, like we said, 'tis no more expensive than Pret.
