The biggest draw of this simple Italian café-deli is its setting, on a peaceful corner right in the leafy heart of St John's Wood. The wide pavements of Abbey Road afford ample al fresco space, so the café really comes into its own in summer when locals convene for a leisurely coffee and luncheon out front in the sunshine. Inside, large dishes of hearty Italianate standards are laid out under the counter: lasagne, pasta, risotto, meatballs, roasted vegetables and the like – reheated to order in generous portions. Baguettes are on offer, too, making use of a good selection of Italian charcuterie, and pizzas are available during the week.
