• Osteria del Ponte

  • Something seems awry at Osteria del Ponte. With pizzas this good (at for only a fiver a pop!), where is everyone? The restaurant was empty on a Saturday night. Perhaps passers-by mistake it for a pub; formerly the Bridge Tavern, a spacious bar area remains at the front, still enjoyed by regulars watching the footie. Osterias restaurant area is at the back, served by an open pizza kitchen and filled with candlelit wooden tables. Not utterly Italian, then, but you couldve fooled us with the quality of the pizzas. They were excellent: perfectly crisp, near-wafer-thin bases supplied with abundant fresh toppings. A range of simple pasta dishes are also served, while a few meaty main courses command slightly higher prices, and desserts range from apple pie with custard to an own-made tiramisu. The atmosphere is admittedly a little drab, but thats nothing a few punters wouldnt fix. This is simple food, done well, at great prices. Perhaps Osteria needs to shed its pub past once and for all.

Osteria del Ponte is my local place. Last night I was there with some friend. We started with a bottle of Barolo in ambient lounge. Then we were escorted to our table by the restaurant manager. We selected the set menu of crisp golden calamari with courgette followed by chicken supreme and finishing with chilled berries with a hot chocolate sauce. Amazing!!
Out of all the restaurants in Kilburn we will return to Osteria del Ponte for more great evenings!

The restaurant part has now moved to the more prominent front of the room near the bar which really helps the atmosphere and seems to have attracted many more customers. The menu is interesting and reasonably priced - the pizzas are really good and cheap too! Friendly staff serve locals at the bar. Recommended.

Living in the area for the past year, but only popped in there at the weekend. Really pleasantly surprised. Food is delicious, and cheap for the quality and the tiramisu was amazing..

We went to watch the footie last night, the place was packed and you could not see the tv screen at all. The pizza was wrong but the waitress was nice.
They don't charge you the tip on the credit card? Dodgy......
