• Donna Margherita

  • Budget airline companies beware: as far as many south Londoners are concerned, trips to Naples became less desirable when this slice of the Italian heartland opened on their doorsteps. A gleeful tweeness abounds: prints of provincial harbour life adorn the walls, while the miniature mezzanine has been converted into a Disneyesque Neapolitan balcony complete with cloves of garlic. The same cannot be said of the food, which is as studiously Italian as you’ll find anywhere. Antipasti comes from both a hot and cold buffet (three dishes for £6.50) or an à la carte menu offering baked calamari and beef carpaccio. The wood-fired pizzas are heavenly, the bases soft and sublimely flavoured with virgin olive oil, the topping combinations subtle. Ingredients are regularly flown in from Naples. Pasta is perfectly al dente; penne al siciliana, with aubergine, basil and mozzarella, made for hearty eating. There’s also a range of grilled fish and meat mains for those thinking outside the P&P box. Desserts include panna cotta; a selection of proseccos tops an expansive wine list.

Certantly one of the best "real" pizza Napoletana in London! Important to undeline: very easy pizza to digest because prepared following the old italian traditions. I bring all my dates there! I suggest to try the Tiramisu', better then my mother's one!
And the staff is very friendly and helpfull. Highly reccomended!

When i went to Donna Margherita the first time, i was really surprised.
Everithings remind me Italy, the music, the colours, the warm atmospfhere but most of all the food!!!!
Any time we go the food is great and also the service is competent and friendly...we love their pizzas!!!!!

Since I found this place three years ago I have returned as often as I can. Since they upgraded the Wood Fired Oven I believe, their pizza is even better. Great Pasta dishes, my favourite is the seafood sciallatielli, and I have to say great beef fillet as well.
It is in my top 5 restaurants in London

I found this resturant to be one of the best i have ever eaten in (and im a very fussy eater!)their service was spectacular! very friendly and they definalty know how to satisfy the customer.i have a 17 month baby and i was very impressed with the child friendly atmosphere this establishment offered. The food was of a very high quality and resonably priced, i would definalty eat there again. If you are looking for a fun, friendly resurant this is almost certainly the place to go.
