A 1934-established, determinedly Sicilian and very mini chain, Paradiso started life as the Ristorante Olivelli and still keeps this alternate name in its official title. It isnt anything like its bigger chain rivals, though, and feels more like a neighbourhood trattoria. This branch is plainly decorated, with a few strategically placed signed photos of satisfied celebrity diners. The food is consistently well presented, with the taste of quality Italian produce very evident. Dough balls (nine to a portion) are fantastic, pasta is as good as the pizza, and salads are perky, with good use of dark, peppery rocket. The Sicilian profiterole dessert merits special mention.
