On the phone Garbo’s seemed astonished that we attempted to book, but just as well we did for this tiny spot was almost full with loyal locals on our Saturday night visit. Photos of Anita Ekberg, Roxette and other Swedish celebrities are displayed on the walls. There’s also a virtual gallery of Greta Garbo images, and her face is used on the logo too. Cooking, like the decor, is homely and has a 1970s edge with such dishes as veal oskar and filled savoury crêpes. Highlight of our meal was the Baltic herring salad, with crunchy green apple and gherkins cloaked in a tangy mayonnaise. Also good was a simple grilled halibut steak, but the signature meatballs in cream sauce seemed bland and rubbery. Desserts include rice pudding, apple crumble and chocolate mousse. However, starter and main course portions were so generous we were happy just to nibble the sweet biscuits that came with the bill. There’s a brief international wine list, plus Swedish Old Gold pils, Crocodile lager, and pear and apple ciders. Friendly, efficient service was all the more impressive given the challenging dimensions of this busy bolt-hole.

This place is great! Reminds me of home! You must try and pea soup, herring and the the "pytt i panna".
It is hearty and genuine and very good value for money! There is even a mooses head on the wall!
Enjoy!
Being Swedish this is Swedish food at it's worse, the food is better and cheaper in Ikea. Meatballs made of pork?? and so bland. Janssons frestelse that is wonderful when cooked properly, almost raw.
Prawncocktail in a terrible tangy shop bought sauce. Kaldolmar overcooked and bland, awful awful food, the only highlight was the cider and the redhaired waitress that was very kind.
