In addition to Turkish restaurant food, Beyti offers Black Sea and northern Anatolian dishes. This is enough to make the restaurant worth finding, even though its location is far from the main drag of Green Lanes. Beyti also provides a varied range of fish dishes. For starters, we enjoyed some subtly spiced deep-fried meatballs (misket köfte). Kalamar arrived piping hot in fine batter, with well-flavoured squid that wasn't the least bit rubbery. As a main, we wolfed down tasty grilled salmon. Pirzola (grilled lamb chops) were also fine, though ours were too well done. It's also worth checking for the daily specials. Food is hearty rather than subtle, and the atmosphere is akin to that of a café – but these aren't criticisms. Beyti is a jolly place.
