There are plenty of London restaurants with a cool, minimalist look, but few manage to carry it off with as much charm as this excellent local . White or ultra-pale green walls are offset by flowers, modern paintings and some rather glitzy armchairs in the bar. The atmosphere is bright but not brittle, mellow but not dull, stylish but genuinely child-friendly. Service is excellent, unfussily welcoming and obliging. And the food is as refreshing as the overall style. The largely Mediterranean menu is strongly seasonal, with plenty of fresh, vivid flavours. Gnocchi of ricotta, peas, speck, mint and parmesan threatened creamy overkill, but turned out to be beautifully light. There was also culinary flair on show in the mains, such as succulent rack of lamb with aubergine, borlotti beans and a pepper sauce, or a nicely smoky sea bream with a sauce vierge. A Laroche Provence rosé at just the right temperature went deliciously with our food on a warm day, and was one of several fairly priced wines on an attractive list. No.11 could easily become a habit.
