Dramatically located in a huge old corner pub, its bare-brick walls covered in eye-catching Vegas imagery beneath almost theatrical lighting, Dollar isn’t really interested in subtlety. This is a brash place, but it’s hard not to admire its commitment to the party-hearty aesthetic. While the smart-ish American-slanted comfort cooking won’t win any awards, it’s better than you might expect given that the ambience seems to favour drinking over eating (there’s a separate cocktail bar in the basement). Our weakest dish was a starter of chicken liver parfait, its blandness only partially disguised by a tasty fig chutney. In contrast, grilled scallops, tidily served atop small chunks of potato with a caper butter, were delectable. A dish of chicken served over butternut squash, pancetta and cabbage was fine, if a little greasy, but in general you’re better off sticking to the red meat. Our sirloin steak, served with full-flavoured potato gratin, was very decent, and the burgers remain both popular and reliable. Not exactly date material, but a good bet for groups.

Dollar is an absolute find. I on a visit to Exmouth Market for my trip to the hairdresser, I noticed an unbeatable offer for a £5 lunch to sit and dinner in this lavish las-vegas themed restaurant, I happily accept and enjoyed one of there goument burger for just a fiver !!
Ill be returning to sample the cocktails at a more acceptable hour !! Top Dollar stuff
i booked this restaurant for my birthday because i was told they cater for large groups, and i'd always wanted to go- i was very disappionted with the table we were given, even though i had booked a week in advanced. The menu was very poor and extremely limited. It was overpriced and i would not recommend it!
Had booked valentine's evening dinner and i was not disapointed, the food was excellent and the way it was set out with rose petals on the table and rose for your partner, nice touch,drinks downstairs before your meal was a added bonus and i will return in the near future. thanks for a lovely evening.
Dollar is a great favorite of mine, anytime I want a get together, I always book here. They do really well with groups; I celebrated my birthday there in Nov with 20 of my friends and family.And we were well looked after. The main reason Dollar works so well for a large group get together, is the choice they have on offer. I am a big fan of the gourmet style burgers but my girlfriend and her friends love all the other lighter dishes on offer. The highlight is getting everyone downstairs in to the cocktail lounge to sprawl out over the large leather banquettes and doing a group experiment with the cocktail list.
