A rare Korean choice in an area dominated by Cantonese food, Corean Chilli woos a younger east Asian crowd with a futuristic charcoal-coloured interior and a broad menu of Korean favourites served café-style with minimum fuss. There are rooms on several levels, all lined with concrete and grey slate tiles. It feels a little like dining in a multistorey car park, but service is fast, the vibe upbeat and the location handy for theatre-goers. CC’s menu reveals a slight Japanese bent, so as well as bibimbap and bulgogi you’ll find ramen and udon noodles. Our cabbage kimchi was suitably fiery and we also enjoyed the mini pork pancakes (dim sum-like pork balls served with shredded cabbage and a delicious tangy relish). Tteokpokki (rice sticks in chilli sauce) was more hit and miss; the flavour of the dish was swamped by too much chilli and rather overpowering Korean fish cakes. We were more impressed by jjambong, an incendiary seafood noodle soup often referred to as ‘Chinese food’ in Korea. Our conclusion? Not bad, but probably better for a swift bite on the go than a lingering supper.

The people who go work there are mostly Korean so the korean food is the best thing to order such as the seafood pancakes and bibimbub. The japanese udon wasn't authentically japanese although it may have been a korean version, being japanese i don't know. The kimchi was good and service is no fuss but quick and polite. Living nearby I am a regular customer and it is usually full, at all hours, of young asian people. Very reasonable prices, and they give you free vegetables to snack on at the beginning.
The worst experience in London so far...
I love chinatown and small cafe, it's been years that I go there and I haven't been really disapointed so far. Well until Corean Chili.
Restaurant was nearly empty and we went upstairs. After a quick look at the menu ( not so many choice, not vegetarian friendly ) we ordered, and all the hell started to break loose !
Despite only having to manage 3 tables in total, our cute waitress was totally useless. Plate where proposed randomly to any table and customer had to be able to recognize their food... What about doing a self directly ?
After pointing out for the second time that this was the wrong plate, the young manager came to our table... TO SHOUT AT US !
Well after that, it was quite hard to enjoy the food of course... Anyway the food was low average, noodle were not different from instant ones. I have serious doubt on the "oragnic food" advertised on the door. Nothing to backup this claim on the menu.
Reading on the differents reviews around, it seems that this was not a "one-shoot" experience, as others customers had the same.
Definitely a place to avoid like the plague.
