  • Terrible. This isnt a restaurant its a noisy crowded bar that sells overpriced crappy little sandwiches. Dont be fooled into thinking you can have a meal here as you cant. there were about 4 items available on the menu, that were replaced without us being asked what we wanted, the veggie salad turned up with meat. The melt is basically a toasted cheese sandwich with some mince in it, the chicken roll-kfc, the corn- one corn on the cob cut in half ( staggering mark up to £4.50 for a single corn on the cob) the salad is gross, a mini gem lettice with bits of burnt blood sprinkled on it (really) i never new salad could be greasy. The portions are tiny, you cant get a table, service was smiley if erratic. Go here if you like noisy east london bars, go somewhere else if you like food.

  • We went to Rita's on a whim on a Saturday night. I expected to wait for a table and feared the worst when we saw a large crowd of people standing around in the bar area, drinking. I put my name down, was told a wait of 45min was expected - and less than 10min later - just after we got our first drink - we had a table. And I have to agree with the review above. The service all round couldn't have been nicer - all the staff were sweet and lovely and chatty. I expected at least a bit of hipster attitude - got none. Sadly the oxheart tacos were too popular that night so we didn't get to try them, but we enjoyed everything else. The mustard greens were great, as was the crumbed chicken liver parfait croquette (a special). I'd definitely go back, especially for the cocktails. Watch your spending though - plates are small (tasting size for 1-2) so it's easy for your tab to add up quickly, especially when you go back for more cocktails and lose track of your total!

  • I went to Rita's on a busy wednesday night (coincidentally the same night as a Bloc Party secret gig downstairs @ birthdays), and regardless of the waiting time the staff were very attentive and kept us updated. Once seated by the incredibly personable front of house, after about half an hour, we ordered Fish Tacos, Mac & cheese with chilli, Patty melt and Duck heart baked beans; all of which were close contestants for our favourite dish of the evening. We also had Rita's Margaritas to accompany our meal which were the perfect blend of savagely alcoholic and moreish. i definitely recommend the fish tacos & patty melt, and will absolutely be returning to try out the famed chicken roll & ever-changing array of specials.

  • Good food which sets me somewhere between a family cook out in NYC or connecticut and a radio production lunch with the trendy CEO. Cocktails are a must a cure and a treat, I was feeling ready for the dance after my second. Thanks for a good experience dudes.

  • The food here is ok but definitely not worth the price. For £8 you get two fish tacos which, combined, fill you up about as much as a single piece of toast. The service is also incredible slow - it takes about an hour to be served a chicken burger. Like I said, the food is good, but it's good in a junk food kind of way, like In-n-Out burgers in America. If the burgers were £3.50 and the service was quick it'd be great.

  • Had a wicked time, enjoyed the casual and friendly service - not usually seen in this part of town. Changed price of tacos which is a positive, def go for the wings and chicken roll.

  • Completely average food that is overpriced which can take over an hour to arrive. The music is way too loud and the service virtually none existent making it not a particularly enjoyable experience. What's with London's recent love of making pretentious American 'pop-up' restaurants. Is it too much to ask for somewhere that can provide good food, at a reasonable price, with friendly service without any stupid gimmicks?
