Tucked away nicely between Highbury Corner and Caledonian Road, this is a lovely little find. Sitting outside with a glass of wine good wine, it's the perfect place to watch the world go by. The food is lovely. As someone who grew up in Spain, I am reminded of the excellent Spanish food I adore. Service is very friendly and prompt. The owner of the restaurant makes an effort to make you feel welcome and at home. Thoroughly recommended for a great evening of food, wine and friends. (I especially recommend the Ensalada Campera, I think I'm addicted!)

I have literally just come home from here. I'd say that a bad restaurant, for me, is quite rare - usually something redeems a place. With Roman, it was really the combination of terrible food (we had some potatoes with garlic and onion which had been burned - and definitely burned rather than caremelised) I think because we'd been mostly forgotten about. The tables seemed to be served one at a time. The table next to us ordered more food than their original order, which arrived before we got any of ours. When we did get ours, it was all incredibly oily, and the portions very small (even for small plates, when you think of the cost of this place). I don't mind waiting for my food, especially on a sunny day when I have a beer - but it was clear that we were waiting because they'd forgotten we existed. Nobody came to offer us more drinks, some bread for example. They had the cheek to add service charge to the bill, which we didn't pay. I am willing to accept that this may have been a bad day for the place, given that so many reviews below are positive. But it was the combination of lousy, uncaring service with bad food that really made this place grate on me. I am fairly sure much of the food was from supermarkets / wholesalers / cans. I never write reviews (good or bad) of restaurants but I have done so here to say: avoid.

Fabulous tapas and very reasonably priced. We have eaten here on many occasions and have tried many different dishes. All have been delicious with good sized portions. Give this restaurant a try, you won't be disappointed.

This is one of my favorite places to have a relaxed evening enjoying yummy food that comes at a pace that allows for fun chatter with friends and family.

After seeing a review in the Islington Gazette, my partner and I decided to try it out, the review was absolutely right, it is a gem off the beaten track! We ordered three tapas each and shared. The food tasted very fresh and portions were generous. The cod was especially good and I would also recommend the patas bravas! As for wine: very reasonably price. So happy I found this place in my area!

Really disappointing. As one would expect with Tapas, the food arrived in stages, but the wait between dishes was long, despite there only being 3 in our party and one other table of 2 in the place. The guy in charge spent the majority of the evening looking his computer/ phone to the extent that I got up to point out to him that our food was waiting on the pass. The food was OK, although greasy. There seemed to be a problem with the extractor fan in the open kitchen, so the very strong smell of deep fat frying kind of killed what was left of our enthusing for our food. Quite frankly, we would have been better off with a pint and a bag of crisps from the pub across the street for all the satisfaction we got as diners. And if we had, we wouldn't have all gone home smellying like a bag of stale chips...

Amazing food; authentically Spanish and very reasonably priced! The tapas sizes are rather big and the steak is to die for! Me and my friends love this place, it has a very intimate feel. The service is also really good. All in all 10 out of 10!
