  • Food was bad. Food had no taste. Very raw. There's a limit. To many staff member not enough customers being looked after. This is a cafe in a good food court... Not the place u would take ur other half for a romantic meal. It looks like they spent more time making the food presentable not enough love and flavour. Menu looked little and boring. Starters mains and desert was no good. Was a waste of money and time. Would never go back. Would never recommend this to anyone could i may lose mates in the process. 0/ 5

  • Any attempt to glamorise vegan cooking deserves recognition. Saf Kensington has much in its favour: a location above Whole Foods, a beautiful app which inspires beautiful presentation and delicious combinations of flavours, and wholesome ingredients - the backbone to fine dining. While the menu boasts creativity and inspires curiosity, the follow-through isn't as tasteful as one hopes. The foodie cannot help but wish the dishes had the extra oomph of flavour, variation in texture, and additional minute of arrangement. Simple can be best. A salad of spinach, pomegranate, pumpkin seeds, and grated pumpkin with a a tangy vinaigrette has promise but perhaps a tossed look is too haphazard (so many colours to work with!) and a surprise, like roasted cubed pumpkin, would bring the meal to the next level. Although the restaurant is above Whole Foods, the atmosphere is one of a basic cafe. The orange paper-cut lamp shades provide the only glow to an otherwise stale environment. The tables, chairs, and general dining accoutrements all felt like they came from a high-school cafeteria. Also, the service in the restaurant was markedly sub-par, quite an aloof presence which marred the rhythm of what could have been a decent meal. Saf has a promising future only if extra care and attention are given to match the expectations set. A disappointment.

  • Well, I had an utterly delicious meal there and have raved about it ever since, so am somewhat bemused by the negative comments. Shall try it again before too long and not be put off. And I don't think others should be either!

  • This is not a restaurant and it is misleading for SAF to continually describe this as one. It is a cafe in a food hall. I took my partner for a romantic birthday dinner and it basically spoiled our evening because we had come for a romantic meal in a restaurant which was how they described it on the website, (and the other restaurant in shoreditch was definitely a restaurant). I Interestingly there is no opportunity to give any feedback on their site- even privately to themselves. I also found out today from another friend that they are on Group On- offering a meal with Champagne- anyone taking that one up is in for disappointment, unless you really don't care about your surroundings in which case buy some Cava in Tesco and drink it on the Circle Line.

  • Awful, tasteless drivel. about half of the dishes on the menu were not available, we ended up asking "What DO you have?". . .the only reason the rest were still available is because they look so unappealing. the food was barely warm, tasteless and not of restaurant standard. Stay at home and cook!

  • I went there with a discount voucher offer and we were really disappointed. Why oh why do veg restaurants insist on being so measly? I had aubergine soup which was ok but needed seasoning (and there was no S&P on the table) and I was given a teensy weensy triangle of bread with it. My boyfriend had a nice pesto pate but no bread at all to go with it. My main course was delicious - chick pea flour pancake - but again - I only got a pile of lettuce to go with it. And how any Chef in 2012 can serve 'pasta of the day' as tubes with half a pepper cut into strips I do not know. This gives vegetarianism and veganism a bad name. Being healthy does not equal scrimping and not eating much!

  • I came in with a group of friends. We had an awesome time there. Food was exceptional and original. I had a a Spinach and Gyoza and a Pumkin Rissoto as a main. I have nothing to add about the food apart from being very tasty. Waiters were also pleasant. The only down side is that they closed at 10pm.

  • Last night I took a couple of friends to Saf Kensington and was sorely disappointed to discover that it is now an overpriced cafe in a food-court, above Whole Foods. The food was sub-par (especially in comparison to their Curtain street location) and over-priced. In-fact, I ended-up returning my quiche as it was dehydrated to the point of being inedible. They were out of a number of the dishes that we wanted and the staff appeared to be indifferent to the fact that we were having a HORRIBLE dining experience. To top things off they asked us to leave before we had finished our meal. In summary, this is NOT the same Saf that it used to be (i.e. Curtain road location) and I STRONGLY would caution against going here. Their business model is now more fast-raw food, and less about a enjoyable night out.
