We visited Cicchetti today with my uncle (who is over from Australia) and our son who is two. When we called to book, we were assured there would be a high chair available and when we arrived at our table it was there waiting for us. But this was only the start of a fantastic afternoon of wonderful food, wine and service! The staff were very friendly and efficient - the olives we ordered arrived at our table before we had even finished giving our order. As we walked around the restaurant with our son to keep him occupied, the staff made a fuss of him and never once made us feel awkward for having brought him to lunch with us. The only way to describe the food was amazing. We ordered about 9 dishes and shared them all between us. The highlights were the carpaccio of beef, spaghetti vongole, scallop gratin, wild boar ragu and the BBQ short rib. For dessert we had panna cotta, cannoli and the coppa golosa, all of which were fantastic. Wine and coffee were also noteworthy. As others have said, the restaurant was busy and buzzing but this did not interfere with our enjoyment of the meal and we ended up being there for about 2 and a half hours.. The staff were very efficient and the food arrived at well spaced intervals - not too fast or slow. We were up the back so were able to see the continual stream of mouth watering dishes leaving the kitchen, as well as having the lovely pizza chef show our son how he was making and cooking the pizzas in the open oven. We would highly recommend Cicchetti for all ages ranges and would like to thank all the staff for making our afternoon so memorable.

Aldo Zilli’s relationship to this restaurant group was underlined by his presence at the front tables, discussing business, when we entered. It didn’t seem to put anyone off, and within half an hour on a weekday lunchtime the close-set tables were crammed with a cheerful mix of office folk, shoppers and tourists. The garish decor of marble and yellow cushions is only slightly tempered by a part-open kitchen and displays of food. Busy white-jacketed waiters add to the sense of bustle, and service is correspondingly prompt. An extensive menu takes in salads, pasta, risottos and grills, but the emphasis is on small sharing plates, some of which are authentic Venetian cicchetti and some not. Parma ham salad with tomato, cucumber and baby mozzarella showed good sourcing and sensitive seasoning. Spaghetti carbonara (not the easiest dish to divide on to separate plates) swam in a golden pool of eggy sauce. Coconut and chocolate tart, one of two desserts of the day, was too rich to finish. The breakfast menu features an appealing full english as well as the likes of black truffle omelette; it’s a handy spot to know pre- or post-theatre too.

I was taken here by my family as a Christmas treat, the food was outstanding and the staff very friendly and attentive, I would highly recommend this restaurant, a wonderful experience, I had oysters, Carpaccio of beef, the Rib steak with porcini, truffle and cream, and you must try the peas and bacon, we ordered 4 more! Will definitely go again!
Wild Boar Ragu Papperdele was oh so very, very tasty. Love the idea of different small portions. No need at all to feel hungry when you get home! See Antonio's comment below. I think he missed the point that this restaurant focuses on sharing small dishes of food. Just order till you don't need anymore. Easy in a lovely atmosphere and very tasty. Will definitely be back.
Came here for the first time a month ago on a friend's recommendation and it exceeded expectations - we tried most of what was on the menu and everything was exceptional. The freshest, tastiest italian I have had in a long time, along with fantastic friendly service in immacualte surroundings to boot!
We ate here pre-theatre on Monday and was surprised at the consistently excellent food quality - each dish better than the on before. Outstanding, and highly recommended.
Had an amazing time last Saturday! Everything we picked was excellent! Will be back for sure in the very very very near future!
The business concept is nice but be carefull, portions are like starters and you will be charged as you eat main courses. Nice place overall, very stilish. Good for a date or to impress collegues at work but be ready to have someting to eat in the fridge when you come home.
After a heavy days shopping, my mum and I popped into Cicchetti on a Saturday afternoon expecting to have a quick cup of tea. In fact we ended up staying for well over an hour soaking up the inviting atmosphere and treating ourselves to their delicious afternoon tea menu! We both ended up having Champagne Afternoon Tea which was such a treat and ended up being the best purchase of the day! The sandwiches that came were fresh and tasty and complemented the Glass of Veuve Cliquot Brut that came with them! The scones that we ate melted in my mouth and had the perfect amount of fruit in them, whilst the pastries were buttery and as naughty as expected! I had been in Cicchetti before and knew their food and service was impeccable for evening meals but had no idea about this afternoon tea menu that they offer during the day! Once again San Carlo restaurants have delivered the goods and continue to satisfy me endlessly!
First time cicchetti visitor and certainly will not be the last. Delicious food and really wonderful service, highly recommended.
It's actually the third restaurant after Birmingham Fumo also, just round the corner from their first restaurant at St Phillips.
