Covering two floors, the interior of this modern Chinese restaurant seems more suited to the trendy Xintiandi area of Shanghai than to an anonymous part of Notting Hill. Moody colours and chic furnishings predominate.

The broad menu covers Cantonese, Shanghainese and Sichuan cuisines, and includes a selection of offal dishes such as pork lung slices and pig’s tripe. We started with a credible xiao long bun from the very short dim sum menu, followed by an overcooked razor clam served with a slapdash combo of spring onions and Shaoxing wine.

‘Sea and land’ pot, in which plump prawns and scallops complemented the meaty flavour of thinly sliced beef fillet, was let down by a bland Sichuan vinegar chilli sauce.

We would have traded everything for another plate of the soft Japanese-style tofu, which had marvellous flavour and texture. It arrived with mixed vegetables, including carrots carved in the shape of small ducks, and a sauce sexed up with abalone.

The manager apart, staff were glum and seemed to verge on the narcoleptic; we really wished for a brighter atmosphere at lunch.

we love this place, very, very accommodating for vegetarians and great food. ask for the salt and pepper tofu appetizer, green beans with garlic and chilli, mapo tofu, and aubergine. all are amazing! but agree with the review, the service is miserably slow.

One of the best Sichuan restaurants I've been to in London. Great main courses - Ma Pao Tofu, spicy fish soup and beef salad are a must. Great decor and friendly manager and staff. Ask to sit downstairs if possible.

dim sum and crispy duck were ok but the main courses were foul, they were uninspired and tfull of msg. The second bottle of white wine was warm room temperature and the service was uninspired. It was a real disappointment.

the starters were useless, no meat on the spare ribs, but main courses were not bad, very expensive had it not been for the 50%disc on the tastecard, would not recommend unless getting the discount!

Amazing. I have travelled in China a lot and this is the best meal I have found outside the country. Service was great too.

A very posh restaurant just right outside the station..The sichuan spicy fish was amazing,, It was on a spicy side but could still taste the fish... ordered a pork, vegetables and seafood fried rice,, they were all excellent... I am surprised that there is an authentic Chinese restaurant outside Chinatown which serves excellent cusine.. (I think the food and price are a lot better than Chinatown). I'll definitely go there again...
