  • Completely lacking in atmosphere on a saturday night as it was largely empty. Food ok but nothing exceptional particularly given the prices. That said, it is a nice looking place.

  • If only we had read about it beforehand. It looked superb from outside, the menu expensive but inviting. Then we relaxed at our table and ordered. Service was slow and haphazard, the food of poor quality and by no means worthy of the price charged. We have eaten at many locations and never felt the urge to complain, but not on this occasion. Put simply, never again. Now to Trip advisor so others are warned.

  • I had a 3 hour wait for a train on Saturday morning and popped in for a breakfast. Service 5 stars. Food 5 stars. Really good on all fronts, not sure if they have had a sort out from the previous reviews.

  • I wish I had read Time Out review before going to this very 'Grand' restaurant the service and food were very bad.I took 14 people there for an important occasion and was very disappointed at the bad service and very poor food. None of us would go there again

  • Had afternoon tea here on a 241 offer and was certainly not wowed by the experience. The sandwiches and cake were nice but a touch on the dry side, refills of were chargeable which I think is incredibly cheeky - although perhaps we were treated differently as we had only paid £12.50 as opposed to the full price of £25. The staff were unfriendly, disinterested and not in the slightest bit attentive. There are far better places to go to in London for afternoon tea and sometimes it's worth paying that bit extra. Would not return to this establishment.

  • Poor service, over priced and average food. I wanted to take my favourite Aunt for a nice lunch before she headed off on her train. We had 1.5 hours before she had to catch her train, which I thought was plenty of time for a one course meal. We both ordered the fish cakes, we waited 45 mins for the food to arrive, having had to nag beforehand. Our one fishcake with some limp looking spinach arrived, however neither of us could see or taste any fish in our FISH CAKE! Having spend £14 on each meal, we expected a lot more, quantity and quality. The service was dull, the food was duller, we will never return.

  • Had a very disappointing experience here. I arrived on time having booked a table but was ordered to wait at the bar while the table was prepared - I wouldn't have minded if this had been said with a smile or apology for the table not being ready. My main course of BBQ sardines were red inside and undercooked. When I queried this I was assured that this was how they were meant to be served. The veg was pretty lukewarm and my friend was served the wrong side order. We had about four different waiters/waitresses serving us -so no continuity and they were so slow that we didn't have time for dessert. Admittedly we were in a hurry, but had they been more on their toes we might have at least salvaged something from the evening. I came here a year ago and had a great time - I love the setting - but won't be returning. I can only assume that they are under new management.

  • Had lunch here after attending an event and it is totally overrated and overpriced. Food quality is very poor, lukewarm steak for my partner and lukewarm liver with very overcooked bacon for me, side orders arrived 5 minutes after main meal and only after informing staff we were still waiting for sides . Asked for a jug of water and got warm tap water, no ice in jug. Service terrible, staff are snooty and act like they are doing you a favour. They do not come to your table once your food has been served and ask if everything is ok. Came out feeling I had been ripped off, would not go there again, there are much better places to eat in London for the same price as it's not cheap.

  • The St Pancras Grand is certainly an exuberant venue but its food quality and price do not build upon the initial emotions. I opted for a Lobster dish which came as a Half lobster very small and immature and consequently it was tasteless. It bordered on the size of a large crevette. It was £19 and was smaller than a £5 tesco lobster (which at least would be enjoyed full and with flavour). My colleagues had what appeared to be cheap "mass market" sausages in their dish (3 of) for the princely sum of £12. Side orders were encouraged but were ghastly for the price and not appropriately contrived to suit the main courses. The staff should do better in this respect. Yes this venue is good for a quick chat over a beverage in an evocative atmosphere. Definitely no for the food. There is a strong chance of disappointment. And watch the discretionary service charge which is applied at around 15% and not that obvious unless you scrutinise the bill.
