The service in this restaurant is absolutely disgraceful. We booked online for 7pm on the special menu with bottle of wine. We arrived at 6.55 and got shown to a table almost touching other diners so we politely asked to move. This was no problem it seemed.
No one then acknowledged us, offered drinks or our menus until 7.25 when we had to ask. The menus were then thrown on the table with no eye contact whilst he was greeting another diner in Italian whom was clearly more important than us.
We decided this was enough rudeness and got up to go.
The manager then proceeded to shout abuse regarding the fact that we were lying about the time and he was going to check the CCTV to prove it! It was actually so laughable if he hadn't been so rude with his tone and hand gestures in front of his others diners.
I have never before been treated with this much disrespect in any place let alone a restaurant.
It was truly disgraceful. We were completely astounded.
Myself and my friend both work with customers every day in the holiday industry and we would never ever speak to people this way.
Service is key and clearly this place just does not realise. There is so much competition in hospitality now days and this is reason business's fail.
Avoid and choose one of the 100's of other restaurants in the area.
Carpe diem!!! Hunting for the latest deals, I came across a very tempting offer of 3 courses and a bottle of wine for 23 pounds. It sounded ideal for a girls night out and so a table was quickly reserved for dinner. However on that particular day, hunger became very dominant and so we decided to go to the restaurant already at 5:30. Our change of times did not cause any problems and we were even able to get 1 of the 2 tables outside. The general optics of the restaurants are like any other average ones and the the outside tables unfortunately face a noisy street. However if you love summer, you will enjoy sitting outside without a warm winter jacket, relaxing and watching all those busy people on the streets. So being now seated comfortably we were greeted by a wonderful, stereotypical Italian waiter that used all his charming skills to flirt with 2 young girls. We chose the meal according to his preference and got the white house wine that was by far the best house wine I have ever received. Because my friend and me are both very adventurous, we decided to share our complete meal and so we went for Starter Mussels in a wonderful soup whit toasted "proper" bread (Delicious) Tomato and Mozzarella salad (good no surprise, tastes like mozzarella and tomato) Main Course Catch of the day (cod) with beans, amazing olives , tomatoes and an unforgettable potato mash and Spagetthi all' Amatriciana (it would be too big for me as my single main dish but having shared it this pasta is heaven) Dessert Tiramisu (we could not agree on any sharing, as it is our both's favourite and it was wonderful) All in all we had an amazing evening sitting outside without any pressure to leave. We were not treated as "deal" guest and left in the feeling of having had just another Italian holiday. We came at 5:30 and left at 9 and for me it was the first time when I gave an extra tip on top of the service charge. It is worth trying and prices are fair.
