This place was absolutely appalling. First of all the waiters were not helpful at all when it came to ordering food. There was no advice on portion size and they were clueless about the ingredients in the curries. When the food arrived on the table we noticed that there was some cutlery missing. It took the staff 10 minutes to find the three missing forks all whilst our food was getting cold on the table. Additionally my friend swallowed a piece of glass that was in the water. We spoke t the waiter about this but it did not seem to bother him, he just took away the glass without replacing it or apologising. Yes the food was good and it was ridiculously cheap, it did not make up for the inexcusable service. Will never come back, there are so many good Indians in East London, this one is not all that...!

This restaurant exceeds all expectations. It is just FAB. The food is to die for at very affordable prices. I just love going there. You feel so good about the place as the atmosphere is great. I have booked for my sons 30th Birthday in August because I know he will love it. You won't be disappointed I guarantee that. ENJOY

Went to Tayyabs for the first time last night for a friend's birthday. NEVER AGAIN! We were served by an extremely rude and pushy waiter who refused to write our orders down (despite being a table of 16!). He rushed us shouting 'NEXT!', clearly not listening to us. He continuously clinked a glass with a knife to get our attention. All the other tables were looking, it was humiliating. Low and behold, lots of the food was wrong and when we asked for what we had ordered, there was no apologies. We were instead treated like we were a nuisance. Unbelievably stressful and unpleasant experience. Food was average but never worth the appalling service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Tayyabs have forgotten their Asian customers as they are too focused on entertaining their White customers. 90% of their Asian customers refuse to dine with Tayyabs as they allow customers to bring their own drinks containing alcohol. Their chops no longer taste how they tasted 5-10 years ago. Very poor customer service towards their Asian customers. Advice to Tayyabs management; please treat all your customers equally and give extra care on food preparation and more importantly prohibit customers from bringing their own drinks containing alcohol as this prevents Muslim customers from eating with Tayyabs.

i have been going to Tayyabs for some 10 yrs and its the only restaurant i would go to. The food is very good and the service is great. Some few months ago i took 40 people from work and some of them have never had Indian food before and there were asking when can we come again because there were our the moon with the tease of the food and that it was very reasonably priced and on top that we could bring our own drinks .Enough said about Tayyabs but would like to say one thing about negative comments yes sometimes you have to wait but you are waiting because the food is very good and you dont mind waiting and if you book ahead then you dont have to wait to long . But please after you have read the bad comments try for yourself and then make your own conclusion.
