Temperance

We came in on a Friday night for after work drinks, what a great pub!! The staff were really friendly, there was good music and a great atmosphere!! We had yummy mini sausages and home made hummus from the starters menu and they went down a treat with all our drinks!! We will back more regularly!!

came here the other week for a friend's leaving do and had a great time. The drinks were good and the staff were excellent, I agree with 'ellen' below, they really made time to cater for us despite having other things to do. Thanks for a fantastic night guys, we will difinitely be back

Myself and a few friends came to the Temperance on a thursday night, wanting an evening meal and a few drinks to celebrate a birthday. We ended up staying for most of the night because we enjoyed the atmosphere so much! Great food and reasonably priced, great selection of wine and the staff were lovely. It was clearly a busy night but they really made time to cater to our needs with excellent table service, which is rare in pubs these days. All the staff were great fun. Will definitely be returning! Would recommend it to anyone wanting to celebrate an occasion, or just if you fancy a drink after work with friends.

We've been looking for a decent bar to frequent after work.  This bar should have ticked all the boxes. I say should have.... Decent location, decent music, decent set up. Lots of spare tables for us to sit round, what more could you want for an after work beer... Well, how about friendly staff and a welcoming attitude? I now know why there were lots of spare tables...  Appalling service, made worse by the attitude of the manager.  Ok, so she may have only been a bar manager that wanted an early night, but ushering people out of the bar at 10.15pm, locking doors and putting the chairs on the tables, a full 45 minutes before last orders, why?! Even if you don't want more custom, surely look after the custom you already have? I'm not sure why they would shoot themselves in the foot so badly.  The bar has potential, but its clearly obvious why it's empty on Friday night.  Even the few that managed to get served had all left by 9.30 when the chairs were removed. Such a shame as this area really needs a stand out bar, and the temperance clearly isn't willing to fill that void. Look elsewhere, at least then you might be able to enjoy your beer for the whole night.
