This trendy lounge bar is filled with low-slung banquettes, high bar stools and silken cushions, and themed around Indian tapas and cool cocktails. When we made our reservation, staff demanded to know how long we’d take to vacate the table; we’ve had warmer welcomes at motorway service stations. Nor are we convinced by the cooking; out of five choices, only seared ‘gunpowder’ prawns were noteworthy for their juicy freshness and lemony flavour. Tandoori chicken was served with what tasted depressingly like spicy cream of tomato soup. Even the samosas were let down by a pasty, ground-mince filling. The menu indicates that dishes are served as they are prepared: shame that our five orders arrived, like London buses, all at once.
