This pretty little café, along with a crêperie and a deli, forms a foodie triangle on Chatsworth Road. The demographic changes as the day goes on: it’s popular with mums and babies mid-morning, does a brisk lunchtime trade with workers, then fills up with laptop users through the afternoon, before finally emerging as an after-school spot.

A short menu covers pastries and cakes (lemon drizzle, cupcakes), substantial sandwiches and toasties, own-made soup and a salad at lunch, and decent Fairtrade coffee all day. Service is friendly and solicitous – help with awkward buggies a speciality – and the noticeboard, carrying details of flute lessons and tai chi classes, along with the 10% discount for NHS and nearby Beaufort School staff, signals that this is very much a locals’ café. An outside area comes into its own in the summer.

Lovely place. Excellent coffee. Very nice cakes. Defo worth the money!!!

Charming place but prices much more than listed. Defo not cheep and cakes are small and central london tourist prices. Quality yes but for cakes and most of their pastries they really need to look at better portions for the price they charge. Bit greedy for the area.
