More café than restaurant, Fish Club offers sustainable fish and chips and other seafood to take away or to eat in its trendy, rather chilly interior. Watch your food being prepared behind a counter stocked with fresh fish and inviting salads.

The friendly, knowledgeable staff recommended a special of sprats: fried whitebait-style, served with aïoli, and very munchable. Battered coley came in an oddly shaped chunk, but it flaked into succulent mouthfuls. 'Catch of the day' was a generous helping of two dabs, though it's worth noting that, as with many of the dishes, the fish came unadorned. Add sauces and side dishes and the overall cost becomes less of a bargain.

Drink local ales or Asahi beer with your feast, the latter chosen because of the Japanese nation's love of fish.

Went here after hearing good things about this place. Ordered the fish and chips and though the food seems good quality it was very oily. Might have been an off day but will be a little while before we go here again.

This place is amazing. The best fish and chips I've ever eaten sober served in a very casual, non-pretentious environment. The food does all the talking. Well worth the 8-10 minute walk up the hill.

Good variety of sustainable fish and very well made. Batter was very light and super crispy. Sweet potato chips was a great accompaniment. 10 out of 10.
