You don't need a pal in nappies or short trousers to eat at Gracelands, but bring a bambino and you'll sure feel welcome. While many places claim to be child-friendly, this café means it, with its toy-filled play area, a healthy tots-own menu and chefs cooing at high-chair diners from the open-plan kitchen.

Don't let all that put you off if you're sans enfants, though - both the main menu and the lofty industrial interior are really for grown-ups. There's a licence too, which means bloody marys with your all-day breakfast. The burger, from 21-day matured beef, has proper foodie pedigree, or you might equally choose one of the well-constructed salads or the enticing-sounding daily specials: slow-braised brisket, say, or devilled mackerel. Our eggs florentine was made with love: two plump, ultra-fresh eggs, perfectly wilted spinach and pleasingly yellow hollandaise.

Elvis appears on the odd mug, but despite its name, Gracelands is more about healthy complementary therapies in the suntrap courtyard than deep-fried peanut butter sarnies.

This place is simply awesome if you have small children (of which I have 3) and great even if you don't!
