This contemporarily styled Notting Hill stalwart isn't afraid to buck the trends of London's Hellenic culinary scene. OK, in chi-chi west London, there's nothing too surprising about an interior that takes traditional trappings such as framed recipes for avgolemono soup, spanakorizo and keftédes, and cosily mixes them up with sleek grey walls, big scuffed tables and fairy lights. Yet in contrast to the capital's Greek-Cypriot norm, Greek Affair bases its menu on the food of the Greek mainland and islands.
What's more, it bucks the unwritten rule of 'feed 'em till they burst' by promising 'nothing in excess'. Even the 'grand meze' selection is easily devoured without needing to loosen the belt. But with taramosaláta free from pink food colouring, a meltingly tender kléftiko perfectly balanced by a fragrant lemon sauce, and flavour-packed, batter-free calamares, there's enough quality to make up for the diminished quantity. The beans in our fasólia gigantes were undercooked and chewy, and some might be disappointed by the substitution of sesame seed-coated crusty bread for the customary basket of pitta, but if the table of City boys happily singing 1970s pop hits is any indicator, most punters leave pretty pleased.

I am from Greece and stay in London during my University degree, and I always visit this restaurant during term time for real Greek food. There is of course no substitute for the Greek lifestyle experience when you are in Greece, but the food here reminds me of my home and I enjoy eating here very much. Also the management are Greek and this adds to my good experiences as I speak with them like they are my friends, as I do in many restaurants in Greece.
Average food. Empty during Sunday lunch hours. Service was good. Not the best value for money.
I loved the place. The portions are great because you can then try a variety of things. I love the food and the homely atmosphere. Having bland food in london is oen of the most depressing things about living here and greek affair made by day by offering flavourful food. Its not over the top expensive but the food is right up there !
Love it. will keep going back.
We picked up a lunchbox from this place today. It was cheap, but so was the food (we're Greek so we should know), the portion was unbelievably small and the lunchbox was supposed to contain a salad, which it didn't. In fact we overheard the owner discussing with a woman in the kitchen(the task wasn't that difficult as they were yelling to each other) that we were Greek and whether in this case they should include a salad. I wouldn't go back.
