The aptly named 'All Day Dining' branch of Chapters is a buzzy, bright place to visit for a coffee and catch-up with friends at the pavement tables, a hearty brunch or a dinner with the parents. The spacious dining room is all modern furniture and exposed brickwork, and you can perch on stylish aluminium bar chairs for a bloody mary or two.

Unlike formal, Michelin-starred sister restaurant Chapter One (based in Bromley), here you'll find classy cooking in a casual setting. Various menus cover every mealtime. Brunch dishes can be quite heavy, such as slow-roast pork belly with an assortment of trimmings. A fish special of expertly pan-fried lemon sole accompanied by an unctuous pearl barley risotto was lighter. Spatchcock chicken had been imbued with a delicate smokiness from the charcoal embers of the Josper oven and arrived dripping with flavoursome juices. Desserts are quite small; a raspberry tart was inhaled in seconds.

On previous visits, service was the epitome of continental efficiency, though on this occasion our entertaining waiter was more engaged in flirting with a neighbouring table than listening to our order - but it's just such variation from the norm that gives Chapters its edge.

Extremely unattentive service despite there being stacks of staff and very few other diners. Characterless surroundings. Lengthy wait for food (though when it did come it was pretty good). To top it off, an error in the bill and service charge added automatically!

Came a second time to give it another chance after big diappointment the first time. Food was very poor quality and extremely over priced for what it was. I asked for the special which I was told was brown trout, different to that on the main meu - however it was exactly the same as the rainbow trout my daughter had ordered. It came on a bed of sad, greasy cous-cous that I wouldn't feed my dog. Trout was tired and tasteless. Daughters meal also poor.
The waiter asked if we had enjoyed the meal, and unfortunately I could only say that we hadn't, very unprofessional reactions - manager rude and arrogant and his excuse was, 'we are not a fine dining restaurant', a direct contradiction of what the waiter had boasted. The manager seemed to imply that if the food was not burnt and was enough then we should be happy.
I have never experienced such poor and actually rude service before, unfortunately I also wanted my food to taste good, and I was very disappointed. The price I then paid for my disappointment was outragous.

Came here for lunch and was blown away by the Pot Roast Belly with remoulade. I can't wait to come back to this place for dinner.
